Metals : Rhodium Plating

Rhodium is a precious metal and a member of the platinum family. When a piece of jewellery is rhodium plated the surface will resist scratches and tarnish and gives a white reflective appearance.

It is important to be aware that rhodium plating does not last forever, but with careful wear and use, rhodium plating can last ten years or more which is longer than other plating materials for example silver, since it is a harder substance and much less likely to get scratched.
